A Transformational Education
This belief in a values-added experience to learn, explore, and grow in citizenship and personal responsibility has been shaped by a breadth of experiences — from coaching & recruiting to academic administration. Most important, as a parent of a fourth grader enrolled in a Boston-area independent school I have refined my philosophy of educating the whole person. I believe in the promise and power of shared learning, critical thinking, and effective communication.
As an educator — be it on the playing field, in the classroom, or as a mom I view my role as a leader and mentor — inspiring and drawing out the best in others, empowering collaborators to lead with their strengths and taking back the reins when guidance is needed. Great leadership brings individuals together to create and achieve shared goals. This is the transformational value of independent school education where faculty, staff, students, and families work collectively in service to each other and society — educating the whole person.
